Poland and Wales, winners respectively against Estonia (5-1) and Finland (4-1), will face each other on Tuesday in Cardiff in the final of the UEFA Nations League playoff for the last spot in Group D alongside France, Austria, and the Netherlands at the Euro.
The favorites prevailed. This Thursday night, Poland thrashed Estonia (5-1) and Wales overcame Finland (4-1) in the semi-finals of the playoffs in Path A. The two nations will clash in Cardiff on Tuesday to secure a ticket to the Euro in Germany (June 14 - July 14) and a place in Group D, alongside the French team.
Before potentially facing Austria and the Netherlands this summer, the Polish and Welsh teams did what was needed against teams within their reach. In Warsaw, Robert Lewandowski, who remained silent on Thursday night, and his teammates comfortably cruised to victory. The modest Estonians, quickly reduced to 10 men (27th minute), failed to make an impact, and Przemyslaw Frankowski (22nd), Piotr Zielinski (50th), Jakub Piotrowski (70th), Karol Mets (74th, own goal), and Sebastian Szymanski (77th) punished their defensive errors.

David Brooks opened the scoring early on (3rd minute), Neco Williams doubled the lead with a stunning strike (38th), and in the second half, Brennan Johnson (47th) and David James (84th) extended the lead. In between, the eternal Teemu Pukki had pulled one back for Finland just before halftime (45th).
